Craft Fayre 1

I've done my first craft fayre today!
Well, it wasn't very busy but I managed to sell a few things.
I took a couple of pictures but they are not very good.

It looks very busy. We reorganized things a little later but I forgot to take a picture.

Well, the next one (14th November) should be much better, it is a proper craft fayre (this one was at my work place). Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend this one because I am traveling to France on that day, but, luckily, my friends will (hopefully) sell my stuff for me. I probably won't blog about it but I am sure Di will, so don't forget to check her blog in a couple of weeks.

Final countdown

More than 3 weeks without a post! where was I? Well, not very far, just very busy with the craft fayre preparation. Only 4 days left before the first one! and still plenty to do...
This is where I am up to:
I've knitted 15 pairs of gloves: 14 with Rowan felted tweed (50% merino, 25% alpaca, 25% nylon) and one with 100% merino. I've made nice labels and attached them to the pairs with matching left-over yarn.

I sewed 25 cotton gift bags:

I hand cut 140 fabric circles to dress the jam jars:

I've made around 100 cards:

The lavender bags still need to be stuffed...

That's it for now. In the next post, I'll let you know how it went...

Onion and sunflower

Today we stayed at home.
The weather was supposed to be awful (it was in the afternoon) so we didn't planned anything. Also, Stephane had to cook for this evening (he is at a colleague's leaving party, hence, access to the computer... ;0)) and for tomorrow. They are mainly French people in his lab and they all love their food, of course, so they are taking it in turn to bring some homemade cooking every week!

I was awake 4 hours before Stephane (I am an early bird) so I had fun with some strips of paper:

Then, when he finally woke up, we checked the cupboard status to decide what to bake...

Obviously, the choice wasn't great so we went for some grocery shopping.

Under supervision (I didn't helped too much, I promised), he made an onion tortilla (for tonight)

and an almond cake (for tomorrow).

It looks yummy, and I am getting hungry... it is a shame, I won't be able to have a bite! :0(

cards

Yesterday, the knitting group in Newburgh was very quiet. Only, Diane, Andrea, Allyson, Cony and I. The wheather was gorgeous so Louise and Jane went skiing.

A lot of yarn was on sale and I couldn't resist ... My wool stash is growing bigger, the flat isn't, unfortunately, and this will become an issue....

Plans are to knit a sleeveless jacket (for myself) with the cream yarn, a hat with the brown and purple cashmerino for my friend in Vietnam (they are coming back to Belgium this autumn so they will need warm clothing), ask my great aunt to knit me another pair of socks with the lana grossa wool, and whatever with the colinette (it was half price and too nice to let somebody else get it !!!). I also gt 2 pairs of rosewood knitting needles.

Today, I didn't touch a knitting needle yet and it is 20h00, can you believe it ?
I've made card instead.
On Wednesday, I am going to London, to see "le cirque du soleil" at the Royal Albert Hall and on Thursday I will wander around (weather permitted) while Stephane will be sitting his translation exam.
